i like collecting my animes bcs of limited internet. of course it would appear that as use of words vary across languages it would indeed be the case that if the same series were to be originally made in English aimed at non-teenage audience it would indeed most likely at that point contain “you fucking traitors!.” (it’s amazing though that most dubs are also pretty legit and keep themselves strictly tied to the original script, of course there are terrible heartless dub examples as well)īut as it was maid by a Jap studio and the VA’s didn’t used actual Jap curse words, do they ever? (maybe i should go and hear some so i can maybe tell them part in most circumstances… ugh) i just feel that subbers take the script too much in their own hands.Īnyway thanks for listening to my rant. However i personally feel that those two are not actual Jap curse words(i mean they were just used in casual situations before, weren’t they.) and hence should not be treated to as equal of the English curse words. The same “t(h?)emera” being translated into you, bastard or motherfucker (i was like – seriously?).
I have seen the same “kusou”(point me out if i am wrong) been translated into crap, shit, fuck, holy shit depending on the intensity of the circumstances. Yep, yep :) i know that, i have seen that (though not in official subs – as i have said before)
